Is the President/CEO of Montenegro Consulting Group, is a Senior District Advisor for the Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL) and works with districts throughout the country on systemic implementation of SEL. He also provides training on instructional strategies for ELs, leadership development for administrators and instructional coaching.

Dr. Montenegro has been a math teacher, principal, Chief of Staff, Deputy Superintendent and Superintendent of Schools for three school districts in Texas. He is an internationally recognized motivational speaker and presenter of 100s of workshops, leadership development seminars and keynote speeches at conferences, universities, schools, and businesses in the US and in 30 countries. He has been invited through the US State Department in cooperation with US Embassies as a special educational advisor and trainer to Chile, Peru and Saudi Arabia. He serves as a volunteer for the Fruit Tree Planting Foundation and has planted fruit trees in Brazil, El Salvador, Uganda and most recently in Hawaii.
